Simple Steps
Conditioning & revitalizing soilOrganic & Natural Planting Soil for Annuals is the ideal soil conditioner to improve and revitalize the soil for a variety of annual plants. It is naturally lightweight and contains just the right ingredients to get your beautiful flowers off to a good start.New & existing garden bedsWork in 2” to 3” of Organic & Natural Planting Soil for Annuals into the top 4” to 6“ of existing soil before planting. To maintain healthy soil beds, apply a 2” to 3” layer of our Organic & Natural Planting Soil every year into your existing beds to refresh.Planting holesWhen planting annuals, dig a hole twice as deep and twice as wide as the root ball. Set the root ball down in the hole and keep the stem the same height as it was in the pot. Back fill with equal parts of Organic & Natural Planting Soil for Annuals and the surrounding soil, tamping lightly around the plant. Be careful not to pack the soil down around the plant, as this eliminates valuable airspace for the roots. Instead, water the plant to settle the soil, adding more soil if needed. Water thoroughly and regularly until the plant has established itself. Feed plants with an organic plant food as needed.Planting in ContainersChoose a clean pot or container that has drainage holes at the bottom. This will help prevent water from accumulating and reduce root rot. Fill the pot with Annuals Planting Soil, leaving some space at the top to accommodate the plant and watering. Gently remove the plant from its current container and loosen roots. Place the plant in the center of the container, ensuring that is is positioned at the same level as it was in its previous container. Adjust the soil if necessary. Fill the remaining space around the plant with more soil, gently tapping it down with your fingers. Water the plant thoroughly, allowing water to seep through the drainage holes. Ensure the excess water is draining away and not sitting in the container.
